PAT Kregeloh
SHIPPENSBURGH RAIDERS

Coach Matt Jones on Pat Kregeloh:

"Pat has been a leader on and off the field all year. He shows up ready to do whatever we need him to do every day. Over his three years here he has continued to improve and get stronger which allows him to be so successful as a two way player. He has pitched and played first primarily, but has also DH’d, played 3B, and LF as well. Pat gets the ball in our biggest games and bats either 3rd or 4th in our lineup. But above all of that he is a great teammate, hard worker, outstanding student, and clutch performer"

Pat is the definition of the term student-athlete. He is the 2013 male student-athlete of the year at Shippensburg with a 3.64 GPA. He got a 3.8 this spring in season. He was first team all-region for ABCA, Daktronics, and NCBWA. He was also named to the Capital One Academic All District 2 first team. So he will be up for spots on both the All-American team and Academic All-American Team.

Pat led the PSAC in home runs and RBI’s while also earning nine wins on the mound.

  • He is hitting .352, 15 2b, 1 3b, 9 HR, 59 RBI, .598 slg %, .408 ob %, .986 fldg % (4 errors)
  • On the mound he has 9-4 record, 3.68 ERA, 1 sv, 85.2 IP, 72 H, .231 BA against.

This weekend on championship day at the Atlantic Regional at Wake forest we needed to beat Seton Hill twice to advance to Cary. In game one on 2 days rest he went 7 innings and got the win in a 10-3 victory. Giving up 3 in the top of the first then shutting them out for the next 6 innings. We then went on to win game 2 by a score of 3-2, Pat hit a 3 run home run in that game.

I am sure that there are some guys with better stats. Maybe not as a two way guy, but definitely one or the other. But when it comes to absolute value to a team, as he goes we go. He leads our team in almost every valuable statistic, including GPA. His leadership has pushed others to play at a higher level and improved our chemistry. We would not be practicing today and preparing for the CWS in Cary without Pat. No one outside of our locker room thought that we could do this. We did.
