ADAM Pendleton
TAMPA SPARTANS

Coach Joe Urso on Adam Pendleton

“Adam is our coach on the field and has taken control of our pitching staff and done an outstanding job as a catcher for us this year. He has a take-charge attitude and all the players look to him for leadership. He’s represented our university well on and off the field and excels in the classroom. The team feeds off him because he has had to catch every game due to his backup leaving the team early in the season. Adam never complains or makes excuses, and has outstanding character. This is truly a great person and would be an outstanding representative to be the recipient of this outstanding award. Without Adam Pendleton on this team, we would not have won the Sunshine State Conference or the NCAA South Regional. I firmly believe that, as this team needs his leadership and character.”

Adam Pendleton makes the team better because he is a leader both offensively and defensively. He has been a four-year letterwinner and graduated with a degree in business, and has also led by example. He has caught for nine pitchers at UT who have been selected in the MLB Draft, and was also the first English-speaking catcher in high school for current Miami Marlins rookie Jose Fernandez.
